We would change the fundamental nature of the universe.”
The Order of Itelmi seeks to gather and master arcane lore as part of a grand project of remaking reality. They want to create a “shard of good” to act as a counterbalance against the shard of evil that lies at the heart of the abyss.
The hallmark of the Order is that they force all of their members to undergo a ritual that untethers them from fate. This goes beyond simply removing peoples’ memory, it actually erases their old existence and creates a new personality and destiny. Without a history, they cannot have divided loyalties. As a result, members of the Order tend to be fanatical about the Order’s goals and somewhat disconnected from ordinary people. It is theoretically possible to retether someone to their original fate, but this is rarely considered, as they would lose all of their experiences and knowledge from their time as an initiate.
The Order has a good reputation in most places, as the Grand Project leans them towards good works. Retired members often become teachers, especially in specialized magical academies or places where heroes are trained to fight the darkness. Because they actively fight against evil, they have a Gandalf-like reputation for being “stormcrows.”
Order of Itelmi Starting Features
- You learn one additional language.
- Any attempt to track, scry or spy on you automatically fails.
- You gain the Whispered Lore power.
Order of Itelmi Level 5 Features
- Choose Arcana, Dungeoneering, History, Nature or Religion. Gain a +2 bonus to that skill.
- Gain a +2 bonus to damage rolls against creatures with the elemental origin.
Order of Itelmi Level 10 Features
- Gain a +2 power bonus to Will.
- You cannot be dominated by evil creatures.
